If you are applying for Anesthesia Technology, Associate Degree Nursing, Clinical Trials Research Associate, Dental Laboratory Technology, Medical Assisting, Medical Product Safety/Pharmacovigilance, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Opticianry, Orthopaedic Technology, Practical Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, or Surgical Technology program, you must complete the following admissions steps:

1. Complete the residency determination to establish if students qualify for in-state or out-of-state tuition.

The state requires students to submit evidence of residency status when completing a college application. The process is completed online through the Residency Determination Service (RDS). View more information about the residency determination and how to complete it.

2. Complete an enrollment application to the College.

Complete an  to the College using the same username and password created for RDS.

3. Complete a New Student Orientation. 

麻豆精品在线播放's New Student Orientation is encouraged for all new students, students with fewer than 12 completed credits, students with fewer than 12 transferred credits, and strongly recommended for all students.

4. Apply for financial aid.

All students are encouraged to apply for financial aid. View information about how to apply, frequently asked questions, and contact a financial aid advisor if you have any questions.

Students must be admitted to an eligible program of study to receive financial aid.

5. Submit official transcripts.

There are two options for submitting transcripts:

  • Mail or hand deliver sealed, official documents to:

  • Request electronic transcripts through an approved transcript service such as ACT, CFNC, College Board, Joint Services Transcripts, National Student Clearinghouse, Parchment, ScribOnline and Script-Safe. List transcripts@durhamtech.edu as the recipient address.

At minimum, students must provide the following documentation for admission into a program:

  • High school/GED/HiSET graduates 鈥 An official transcript or original diploma to be copied. Official transcripts of homeschool organizations must be accompanied by a copy of the verification of state authority to operate.
  • College graduates 鈥 Official transcript only.
  • Some college, no degree 鈥 Official high school transcript or original diploma to be copied and official college transcripts.
6. Provide proof of placement.

Students who have completed associate degrees or higher from a regionally accredited college or university in the United States are college-ready and can take any gateway 100-level course on their plan of study. Students with associate degrees or higher from other countries should contact the Center for the Global Learner for support.  

Students who do not already hold an associate degree or higher from the United States must use their unweighted high school GPA for placement if they graduated from an accredited high school in the United States. ACT, SAT, GED, HiSET, NCDAP, COMPASS, ASSET, and ACCUPLACER scores can be used for placement within 10 years from the date taken. 

Students who lack an unweighted high school GPA and who have ACT, SAT, GED, HiSET, NCDAP, COMPASS, ASSET, and/or ACCUPLACER scores from the past 10 years that do not place them into college-level courses (with or without corequisite support courses) will be required to take the RISE placement test.

View test prep materials and testing schedules. Students require a student ID number and a photo ID to take the test.

Some Health Technologies programs have specific requirements which could include additional testing.

7. Complete required forms and tests.
8. If applicable, satisfy the biology and chemistry prerequisites.

Students applying to the Associate Degree Nursing, Emergency Medical Science, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Respiratory Therapy, or Surgical Technology program, must also complete the required science prerequisites in Biology and Chemistry. Satisfy the biology and chemistry prerequisite by documenting one of the following:

  • High school biology and chemistry courses (one high school unit each) that are less than 10 years old by the time a student achieves the required scores on the placement test OR completes all required developmental courses. Documented courses must be completed with a 鈥淐鈥 (numerical value 77) or better grade;

  • College (post-high school) courses in biology and chemistry. Documented courses must be completed with a 鈥淐鈥 or better grade;

  • Successful completion of BIO 168 with a 鈥淐鈥 or better grade;

  • Successful completion of CHM 130/130A; or

  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in a biological science, chemistry, or allied health area.

9. Apply to the program.

In addition to applying to the College, students may also need to apply directly to their program of interest. Visit the program page to view the Admissions Checklist, then complete the admission requirements and apply to the program during the application period using the online Health and Wellness Application.

10. Non US students must have immigration documents verified.

As part of the enrollment process, if students are not a US citizen or have attended school in another country, the College must review immigration documents to determine tuition status. Visit the Center for the Global Learner in the White Building (Building 1), room 58, to have immigration documents verified. For additional information, call the Director of International Services at 919-536-7264, ext. 4052. This step in the enrollment process must be completed before you can take classes.

11. Notification of Acceptance

Students will receive notification via email about acceptance into 麻豆精品在线播放. Program acceptance will be sent separately via email as outlined on the application process the program of interest.
