The Center for the Global Learner (CGL) creates equity and celebrates diversity by promoting language empowerment, global engagement, and intercultural understanding.

CGL priorities:

  • Create a welcoming and supportive environment for students of diverse backgrounds as they navigate the U.S. educational system, local workforce, and global economy.
  • Ensure that students develop the English-language skills, knowledge, and networks needed to be successful in college, work, and life.
  • Provide non-native U.S. English speakers with the academic foundation to complete programs and credentials successfully.
  • Facilitate equal access to community services for speakers of languages other than English through interpretation training and work-based learning.
  • Enhance understanding of global issues among our college community and present opportunities to experience other cultures.
