(Courses by Semester)Elementary Education - Residency Licensure Certificate
Short Term
- Be a U.S. citizen, or eligible for employment
- Have completed a bachelor鈥檚 degree with a 2.7 GPA or higher
- Have completed 24 hours of coursework in the requested licensure area or passed the North Carolina State Board of Education (NCSBE) required content area examination(s) for the requested licensure area
- Letter of employment or promised placement from the PSU/LEA
- Completed professional development training required by the PSU/LEA
In addition to completing an application, students must provide:
- Unofficial transcripts for admissions purposes,
- Official transcripts before being admitted to the program,
- Proof of employment or promised placement from the PSU/LEA, OR
- A signed by the employing school.

- Follow these steps to find the correct application:
Apply to College -> Application Hub -> Start an Application -> Select 鈥淎lternative NC Teaching Licensure: NCCCS Cultivating Carolina Classrooms鈥
- Complete and submit this application.
After submitting the application, you will be contacted by the NC Community College System (NCCCS) EPP Program Coordinator. The EPP Program Coordinator will schedule an interview with you. Be prepared to provide unofficial transcript(s) that show you have completed a Bachelor鈥檚 Degree and met the 2.7 GPA requirement. You will also need to provide a letter of employment or promised placement from a local public school district.
If it is determined that you are eligible to enroll in 麻豆精品在线播放鈥檚 Elementary Education Residency Licensure, you will need to provide Official Transcript(s) to 麻豆精品在线播放 to finalize admission to the college.
Once fully admitted to 麻豆精品在线播放, the Education Chair will contact you to discuss next steps including course registration.

To successfully complete the Residency Certificate program, a candidate must meet the following requirements:
- Complete all coursework with a grade of 鈥楥鈥 or better.
- Before applying for licensure with NC Department of Instruction, the candidate must pass the following tests:
- Pearson Test 190: Foundations of Reading, AND
- Pearson Test 203: Mathematics Subtest OR Praxis Test 7813: CKT Math Subtest
- Successfully complete edTPA requirements
- Set up a DPI NC account and apply to the
- Institute of Higher Learning (IHL) will complete the V Form:
