2. Verify your placement.

A student has the option to meet CCP program eligibility benchmarks with either an unweighted high school GPA of a 2.8 or higher or assessment scores in English, reading, and mathematics. Use the CCP Placement Guide to verify your current eligibility status. If necessary, prepare for and complete the RISE Reading/English and Math placement tests. Visit the Placement Testing section to learn more about preparing for the test and to see the current test schedule. Testing is on a first-come, first-served basis.

There are two RISE English tests. You must pass the first RISE English test with a score of 70 percent or higher to qualify to take the second RISE English test.

There are three RISE Math tests. You must pass the first RISE Math test with a score of 70 percent or higher to qualify to take the second RISE Math test. You must pass the second RISE Math test with a score of 70 percent or higher to take the third RISE Math test.

4. Activate your Student Email and Self-Service Accounts.

Your student email account is linked to your Self-Service account, where you can check your test scores, view your transcript, register for classes, and review your grades. 5. Attend an Orientation Session.

Once your eligibility is verified, you will receive a link to schedule your online orientation session (for schools where a College Liaison is located, check with your Liaison about the orientation process). 

6. Register for courses when new student registration opens.

Registration dates will be discussed at the  and during advising, including the last date to register.

7. Pay for your course fees.

While you will not be charged tuition, some courses have additional supply fees. They are listed with the plans of study.  

8. Obtain your student ID and buy your books.

Student IDs are provided at the Campus Police and Public Safety office. Students are responsible for obtaining their books. Textbook costs are the responsibility of the student unless otherwise covered by the school district. Check with your school for details.

9. Begin classes!

Pay attention to the attendance policy on the syllabus for each of your classes. The policies may be different for each class.
