Human Resources (Continuing Education)
Short Term
Students will receive the necessary training to acquire and exhibit an understanding of the important role that human resources plays in an organization, and includes components in the , , and certification exams. Note that these certifications may also require experience in an HR role as a requirement to sit for the exam.
For those not seeking certification, these courses provide a comprehensive and accelerated option for professional development and training for Human Resources Generalist and Human Resources Assistant entry-level positions.
This course qualifies for financial assistance.
MLS-3809D Essentials of Human Rsrce Mgmt
Essentials of Human Resource Management introduces the functions of personnel/human resource management within an organization. Topics include equal opportunity and the legal environment, recruitment and selection, performance appraisal, employee development, compensation planning, and employee relations. The course is designed to provide students with the training hours needed to meet the five modules of study: HR competencies, people, organization, workplace, and strategy, in preparation for the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), Professional in Human Resources (HRCI PHR), or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification exams. Upon completion, students should be able to anticipate and resolve human resource concerns.
