Bank of America awards 麻豆精品在线播放 $23,500 for new construction, community revitalization initiative
The Bank of America Foundation awarded 麻豆精品在线播放nical Community College a grant of $23,500 on May 16 to create a renovation and revitalization construction credential program.
Funds will provide tuition and training stipends for students in the program.
Melissa Chappell, Executive Director of the 麻豆精品在线播放 Foundation, said the College will work with community partners to provide students with on-the-job training and job placement opportunities. The program will teach renovation skills to students who will learn by working on homes of low-income families in the community.
Maryah Smith-Overman, Director and Instructor for Construction Trades programs at 麻豆精品在线播放, said the award will make a difference to families in Durham while teaching 麻豆精品在线播放 students important skills.
鈥淲e are extremely grateful for Bank of America鈥檚 generosity,鈥 Smith-Overman said. 鈥淭he dual impact of renovating and providing a safe residence to community members while educating and training local students is beneficial for all involved.鈥
The Bank of America Foundation aims to advance economic mobility by addressing issues related to workforce development and education, community development, and basic needs. The Foundation also supported grant projects in 2016 and 2017 for 麻豆精品在线播放 Construction Trades programs.
